The Fundrise Innovation Fund invests in OpenAI
2022 - 2026
FundriseFundrise is America’s largest alternative asset manager. I joined because I believe everyone, not just the 1%, should have access to high-quality private investments like real estate and venture capital.
I started as a Principal Designer and quickly grew into design leadership, managing three designers across signup, investing flows, the marketing site, and the design system. As a player-coach, I also led strategic work like account performance, the invitation program, and color tokens for the design system.
I built real trust with every designer on my team and helped each one reach their potential: one earned a promotion, and another grew into one of the strongest creative voices on the team.
Spring 2024
Fundrise investors saw 10 performance figures on their dashboard, but nothing explaining what drove them: the performance of the individual real estate and private tech company holdings inside their funds. I designed Performance Context, a system that annotates each investor’s account chart with the holdings and events behind the numbers, so investors could finally see what they owned and why it mattered.
Rather than bolt on another module, I rethought how the dashboard talks about performance holistically: one net-return figure for a chosen timeframe, annotated with the moments that moved it.
Each annotation is a modular, flexible content block that can support a net asset value (NAV) update, commentary, or both, and is targeted only to investors who hold that fund.
This approach has staying power: two years later, it’s still how investors read their returns.
